Misha Harrison

Hey! My name is Misha Harrison, I am a 32 year old female from Wollongong, NSW.

I have been a creative my whole life, but only found my artistic ‘niche’ about three years ago.

My art explores materiality and process through three-dimensional still life artworks. Each artwork comprises of intricately hand cut, painted and embroidered plywood. The artworks translate real life arrangements of flowers, drapery and objects into three-dimensional artworks that combine sculpture, painting and textile practices.

The notion of the handmade is crucial to my work. I relate to core notions of the Art and Craft Movement of the mid 19th Century where artists like William Morris believed that mass produced and readymade items lack soul. My artworks mirror this notion which I believe is a conversation that is relevant now more than ever. I express my soul and the beauty of handmade items through my craftsmanship in wood, embroidery and painting.

My artworks are like big jigsaw puzzles, every piece of the artwork slots into its place. The process of creation is much like a puzzle also. There is a lot of problem solving involved in my practice. Piece by piece the artwork slowly reveals itself to me.

Hi, I'm Meg, and I currently live in Brisbane, surrounded by the bush, with my husband, three kids and puppy. I paint from my home studio (aka the kids’ playroom), where I am often joined by my three small ‘artist assistants’ who enjoy offering their very honest opinions! They also love working alongside me on their own painting projects or terrorising me by playing all manner of indoor sports or block constructions around my easel!

My husband and I have been together for 10 years coming up later this month! Where has the time gone!! We have two children who keep me busy.

I love keeping active when I can, escaping out of the city on weekends, trying different cuisines and creating an artwork that is exactly as I envisioned!!

I have 3 short school days to myself to paint, (that’s if no one is sick) so I try to make the most of the time I have.

I love to talk and ramble on about everything and nothing. I have two naughty Chihuahua’s, who often have paint on their paws. I live in Sydney. I am rather boring really.

But mostly, I make art, sometimes well and sometimes poorly.

Being born into a creative family, I have been passionate about art ever since I can remember. I followed a career in graphic design while continuing to explore different painting techniques and mediums as a means of expressing my self. Drawing inspiration from nature, I create work that explores the spiritual connection and emotions that we carry through life.

I’m a busy mum of three. I work full-time as a practice manager in a dental practice and have always really loved creating something new for myself and others.
My artwork is digital, mostly black and white pen work, but I always love colourful abstract lines and patterns. Most recently, I’ve started to combine my black and white pen work with loads of colour.

I am currently an emerging visual artist who started learning how to paint using acrylics by watching video tutorials on YouTube. After a few years, I decided to take my art more seriously and decided to enrol in art college. I am currently studying to complete an Associate Degree in Visual Art. I love painting various subjects, especially flowers and women portraits using oil paints and mediums.

I'm an artist and designer, and have a Bachelor Degree in Visual Communication (Graphic Design) from Monash University. However, being a mum is the most important role I have in my life right now. I've always been creative, and was worried that becoming a mum would take away from my time and energy to create but in fact my experience has been quite the opposite. Watching my little boy and girl grow and experience the world with fresh eyes has been one of the most creatively liberating experiences of my life

I’m a mum of two children and two fur kids. The fur kids love spending time in my studio while I paint. I have been working as a visual artist for 25 years and still love it. I also produce a range digital art, by using a combination of my hand-painted artwork and digital technology, which stems from my visual art background. The process of creating brings me great personal fulfilment and joy. I work mostly in acrylics on stretched canvas. Each artwork is built up layer upon layer to draw the viewer deeper into the artwork.

I was born and raised on New South Wales South Coast, that was were my passion for painting seascapes began.

During the summer months, my Dad and I would go surfing on the South Coast, there was always something calming about being out in the ocean on my board, it was a carefree and beautiful place to be, where all your thoughts drain away. This is what I try to portray in my Seascape Artworks, to take people into my carefree world of being out in the ocean, riding the waves.

I began my Art journey full-time for the past two years, opening my business “JB Creations” back in 2020.

I’m a mum and a self taught freelance artist from Melbourne. I’ve always experimented with different styles, mainly realism, however in the past few years I’ve been drawn to a more fluid approach. I find this style super relaxing and easy to zen out when the little bebe gives me a minute to myself haha. All of my works are intentional pieces and created with meaning, this is something that is really important to me and I hope if comes through in my work.

I am a nature loving, music & animal adoring creative mumma and wifey who loves to bask in the beauty of the Sunny Coast.

I was fortunate enough to have a career change after 10 plus years of being in sales which lead me back to doing what I love, art. Since I picked it back up and focused on it, my art flourished. Not long after that, I was blessed with a bub and since then I have happily loved raising my little dude, (along with my second child, my little art business).

Hey there! I’m Ashleigh. I live in the gorgeous Port Macquarie area of NSW, but this is a recent change and I’m actually a born and bred West Aussie. I love the natural world, and my hubby Josh and I get out amongst it as often as we can. We’ve loved exploring this new part of Australia!

I did an apprenticeship in Floristry straight out of school, and while I’m not working in the industry anymore, it really formed the love and appreciation of flowers that I have.

I was born and raised in suburban Sydney, Australia. I’m the third of four children and considered the “quirky” one, mainly because I leaned more towards art rather than sports or physical activity of any kind haha. I’ve dealt with a lot of mental health issues in my past and art and painting was a very positive outlet for me, something that always brought me calmness, peace and a strong sense of self worth. When I’m not painting I spend time with my friends and family which is very important to me, keeping those who support me close by. I enjoy reading, meditating, yoga, surfing Instagram for inspiration, listening to music (sometimes on vinyl) and bingeing a lot of Netflix in my spare time.

Hi, I’m Orenda. I currently live in Adelaide, South Australia after moving here from Victoria in 2018. I love living in Adelaide. There is so much natural beauty here to appreciate and it is easy to find inspiration for art.

Creativity has always been present in my life. I was the 8 year old kid who painted pictures that were then transformed into bonbons which I sold by myself door to door in my neighbourhood. 20c bought a lot of lollies in the early 80s and I was rolling in them. The same ‘thinking outside the box’ mindset followed me and as my creative skill set increased, it all came in handy in multiple businesses, in parenting, and even in the way I navigated through life.
