Annalisa Agresta
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am currently an emerging visual artist who started learning how to paint using acrylics by watching video tutorials on YouTube. After a few years, I decided to take my art more seriously and decided to enrol in art college. I am currently studying to complete an Associate Degree in Visual Art. I love painting various subjects, especially flowers and women portraits using oil paints and mediums.
What is your favourite drink?
Chinotto. It is an Italian drink similar to Coke with a twist of citrus in it, that was introduced to me while living in Italy. It’s perfect with any Italian pizza.
What inspired you to start painting/drawing?
I remember enjoying art in high school. Then I met my grandfather and uncle in Italy who were great artists. I was always in awe how fast my uncle painted and the beautiful paintings my grandfather created. I think it has always been a part of me, but never realised my potential later in life until I started with Paint by Numbers, that got me thirsty to learn more.
What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?
Don’t expect perfection in the first few years of your art art career and don’t compare yourself to others. Just enjoy painting and let it take you where it is suppose to take you. Rome was not built in a day.
