Rachel Reading
Rachel Reading, Wallabi Point, New South Wales
Many of my creations combine native flowers and fish caught on the coast of my home town. This combination I feel, represents a calmness found in both land and sea. Both beautiful, both silent, both have exquisite detail and formform; bothresent where they come from without a sound.

I am still developing my chosen style with every work I create, but my favorite medium is black ink on white paper. I feel that when using ink there is no way to avoid a mistake other than work with it, and it becomes part of the final piece. I like the finality of this medium.
Jen Urquhart
Jen Urquhart, Geelong, Victoria
My artwork is mostly drawn from Australian native flora. I have a large native garden so I am never short of specimens to draw. My art is predominantly done in colored pencil with some work in graphite. I am always looking to challenge myself with trying new techniques and learning more about the medium.
