Emily Snowdon

Tell us a little bit about you?
I’m Emily, the face behind this Emily Snowdon artist. I’m a 27 year old artist on Bunurong land (Mornington). My main gig is being a Social Worker (was on the covid ward, currently working in Women’s and children’s) I also run a sip and paint business @blanc_kanvas_ check it out if it takes ya fancy 🎨 🍷

When I’m not social working or painting you can find me hanging out with my fiancé Matt and dog Pippa!

What is your favourite drink?
I honestly just love a classic coke. But also a big Prosecco fan!

What inspired you to start painting?
My nan was a very talented artist and my mum is quite creative so I definitely grew up painting! I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t.

What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?
Just go for it. Try not to focus too much on the end result/ perfect materials etc. Make a Pinterest board of things you like and practice by imitation. You’ll begin to find what process you like best and start to make it your own. Also more than happy to be contact for any advice! No gatekeeping here.
