Jenny Wright
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi I’m Jenny, my life started out in Sydney but my parents decided they wanted to give myself and siblings a "better" life in the country, out of the big smoke!
We moved to Southern NSW when I was young and I now live and work full time on the family property which is located on the mighty Murrumbidgee River. My art is my passion and escape from the everyday pressures of life and one day I would love to have my own studio and paint full-time. My favourite pastime is spending time with my family and friends, I have an amazing daughter Elle, who is my rock and I became a grandma to our little ray of sunshine, Florence in 2020.
What is your favourite drink?
My favourite drink in the winter is definitely coffee, Cappucino on soy and summertime drink is a good bottle of Moscato, I'm a little bit of a sweet tooth.
What inspired you to start painting?
I am a self taught artist and have always been creative even as a small child and love everything art and craft, however I started my instagram account in 2019 and have been going strong ever since, a huge thanks to my daughter Elle for encouraging me to take the next step to sell my works. My inspiration definitely comes from nature, I love all animals and flowers but my favourite subject by far are our feathered friends, I just adore birds and am a self confessed "Birdnerd". I love that my art brings joy to people and when you hear a collector say "This piece is touching my heart" it also makes my heart smile.I believe my art has evolved so much since I started out and it is always great to receive feedback from my followers.
What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?
I believe Art Directory Australia has already helped me by putting my art out there and sharing on instagram, my aim is to build a great platform and grow my followers so I can continue my exciting art journey.
I would encourage new artists starting out to "just do you", you may make mistakes along the way but just get in and have a go, it's so rewarding and great fun.
Experiment with different mediums until you find the one that's right for you. I have tried most mediums but always go back to my favourite which is watercolour, when you find your niche you will know and will never look back.
Just have fun!!!
