Eclette by Penny Brooshooft

Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Penny –last year I quit my job of 13 years to pursue my art. Before that I worked as a Zoologist – a bit of a gear change! I am self-taught, but art runs strong in my family! Eclette is my business and expression of creativity. As Eclette, I design, make and curate eclectic collections of ready-to-hang gallery walls; each collection is unique and has a different source of inspiration, theme, colour palette and variety of painting style.

What is your favourite drink?
Give me a Dirty Martini any day!

What inspired you to start painting/drawing?
It's always been a part of me - my mum is an artist and I have a lot of creativity in my family. I was looking for a change in my career and I decided to take leave and focus on my art for a while - I didn't go back to work!

How can we support you?

Advocating for new and emerging artists is fantastic - we need all the help we can get to be seen in this big fish pond!

What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?
Pursue every avenue you can think of - you have to put yourself out there, which comes with a fair amount of rejection, but if you have drive ultimately you will succeed.
