Benjamin Cole

Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am an Australian fine art photographer with South Korean heritage, who looks to create still life sculptural images that are inspired by events in my life. Botanical elements are regularly featured in my work to represent the idea and emotions behind the work.

What is your favourite drink?
My work seems to revolve around coffee! I love a cup of coffee while I am working through ideas, shooting and finalising my art!

What inspired you to start painting?
I loved the magic behind photography, capturing a moment in time or creating an image that can tell so much of a story. I won a few local and state photography competitions as a teenager which gave me confidence to pursue photography as a career

What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?
Get your work in front of as many people as possible, art and anything visual is subjective and not everyone is going to be your biggest fan and that’s fine just keep creating work that is honest to your voice, keep your passion alive and there will be people who come along who love your work!
