Sydney-based contemporary artist, Amy Compton is a late-comer to the art scene. Having spent her 20s and 30s pursuing a career in the media industry, Amy is now a full-time mum by day and an artist by night. 

Despite the busyness of raising three young children, Amy manages to find time every day to devote to painting. She finds it calming and very addictive!

When her kids are a bit older, Amy plans to become a full-time artist and to work in a studio built by her husband, Paul.

Amy’s artwork is a mirror of her personality bright, cheerful and playful. Working in acrylics and mixed media, Amy paints textured botanical abstract pieces in bright and happy colours. Mark making, found papers and collage feature in most of her paintings. Amy works intuitively and is largely influenced by the natural world and her vivid imagination.
