Benjamin Cole is an Australian fine art photographer with South Korean Heritage who’s work explores events and emotions exposed and engaged through his life.

Botanical items are regularly showcased in my work in what could be considered still-life photography however my work moves beyond representation as I look to take concepts further by activating sculptural objects that interpret my emotions.

Formally trained as a commercial photographer with strong knowledge in film and darkroom artistry I approach my work with the gloss of modern commercial media connected with the history of photography. Reference to these origins can be seen in my work through frequent use of small shards of light on objects paying homage to early pin hole cameras as well as paint and liquids being used to create and expose ideas and emotions in a similar manner to the reaction of chemicals on silver halide crystals used to reveal the images in darkroom printing and film application.
