Hi! I’m a Melbourne based Artist and Designer. I completed a bachelor of Visual Arts in 2007 and went on to study and have a career in Fashion. Since 2014 I have run my own jewellery label, Lemon, however in early 2020 I decided to discontinue the business. This coincided with Melbourne’s first lockdown, and in what is becoming a bit of a lockdown cliché, I have returned to painting.

I work primarily with oil on canvas. Painting for me is a way to reinterpret my reality. Taking ordinary scenes from the home and reimagining these spaces in a dream-like and other-worldly way. Using vibrant colours and textures, the walls and objects in the painting almost wobble and bulge from the canvas. Unlike a traditional still life, I choose to include elements that aren’t necessarily aesthetically pleasing, small details like a power point, cheap wine brand or common appliance remind the viewer this space exists in reality. There is humour in my work and I hope the viewer can feel this and a sense of joy in the celebration of the ordinary.
