My name is Charlotte and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I was always very creative and artistically driven, even when I was young. My passion for art was always nurtured by my family so I was always encouraged to pursue it. I always enjoyed visual arts at school so once I graduated I decided that that’s what I wanted to do so I began pursuing it professionally. My style changed quite dramatically throughout my further studies. I once wanted to focus on illustration but then I moved on to painting instead, which is where I really found my strength. I started studying in 2017 then by 2019, I had both my Diploma and Advanced diploma of Visual arts. I am also now currently studying for my Bachelor of Fine Arts through university.

The inspiration behind my works is purely the sensuality and beauty of the human body. The belief that we’re all expected to look a certain way, and that what we look like isn’t good enough. I like to make the imperfections or the self-conscious aspects we have of ourselves, something beautiful. I also take a lot of inspiration from nature and the landscape; particularly the Australian outback landscapes. I take a body, then a landscape and merged them together to create a “bodyscape”. Over the years I have incorporated more into my practice, most recently some textured abstract pieces. I have also made some of my “bodyscapes” include flowers, a series I dedicated to the two most natural ans beautiful things; flowers and the human body.
