 Hi, I’m Carmel. I live in Subiaco, Perth Western Australia with my partner Rick.

Last year, in 2021, I started selling my paintings and work from a studio space in my back garden. After being involved with Art Education, I am now focusing on establishing my practice, creating abstract expressionist paintings using acrylics and mixed media.

I have been lucky enough to travel extensively throughout my life and have had the opportunity to connect with a variety of cultures and observe the incredible beauty of nature both in Australia and around the world. My inspiration comes in many forms, which can include memories, literature, music, nature, inner-thoughts, places, people and things that move me or experiences that stay with me.

Through my work, I want to paint sensitively about what I am thinking about or seeing at the time and capture on the canvas how it makes me feel. I love applying the beauty of colour, shapes and mark-making to the canvas, the creative process in all its forms and seeing how a painting develops and comes together.
