Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Kat (aka Katerina) born in the Czech Republic my love for creating art began when I arrived in Australia with my family at the age of 8. At school I would fill up my school books with cartoon characters, abstract blooms and patterns to pass the time. In art classes I would experiment with different painting techniques and mediums. My life is really full! I am a mum, a wife and a social worker, one day I hope to be painting full-time and grow my business.

What is your favourite drink?
I LOVE my coffee and tea! I adore all herbal and fruit teas and love mixing them up. I also enjoy our South Aussie wine regions for their amazing local wine, food and beautiful wineries!

What inspired you to start painting?

I have been a creative my whole life. My mum gave me a set of palette knives for my birthday and encouraged me to try working with pallette knives in 2019. This turned into an obsession with texture and I haven't turned back!

What advice would you give other artists/creatives starting out?

Start now and don't wait for the right time! Create a body of work and get it out there on show! Enjoy the process of creating, sales are fantastic but don't measure your success by the number of sales you have made. There is an art in selling your work so take the time to learn all about the art business by reading blogs, online information, small business resources and talking to the experts in art galleries.
